A strategic CIO with leadership skills that have been recognised globally for delivering corporate transformations enabling organizations to achieve their goals; combined with executive management insights drawn from uniting teams in challenging markets, diverse cultures and sectors.
Assine currently holds the position of CIO at the University of Western Australia, leading a team of professionals to deliver an IT strategy that enables the university mission in education, research, administration and enhancing the UWA Community experience.
As the Chief Information Officer at The Benevolent Society, she devised the corporate technology strategy, built a high performing IT division, established credibility with the executive team and the Board. She led a number of transformations that moved the IT services to a cloud model and enabled substantial business improvements.
While serving as International Vice President at New York Life Hong Kong, Assine provided executive leadership. She devised consistent IT strategies across seven markets in South East Asia. She built and mentored cross- functional, cross-border teams of differing cultures into a cohesive group that delivered major business transformation.
At the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, she led group wide transformations in line with industry regulators’ direction. She delivered enhanced business models, processes, governance, regulatory compliance, risk and independent assurance frameworks.
Assine’s career includes leadership roles at Insurance Australia Group, where she guided group wide business and technology transformations spanning the Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Products, eCommerce and Technology divisions.
Assine holds a Bachelor of Science from Sydney University and a number of qualifications in leadership, strategic planning and business management. Most recently, Assine was awarded the Harvard Business School scholarship for the Advanced Management Program (April – May 2014).
